About Suubi house

Suubi House

Suubi's vision is to bring long-term freedom and restoration to boys living on the streets, broken by drug and alcohol abuse. This is accomplished by building values, skills and character through living, working and worshipping together in a caring Christian community. Our home for street children is free of charge and seeks to transform these young people physically, emotionally and spiritually to become contributing members of society.

Suubi means "hope" in Luganda. This house of hope is a program that seeks to identify boys approaching adulthood who have never had a successful resettlement with families, are orphans or have had lives threatened by their clan. This is a 2 year program, provides daily meals, accommodation, along with literacy, numeracy and vocational training for each boy in their chosen field of interest. These young men will learn through community responsibility and shared decision making to take  care of the compound and each other.

The goal is to nurture these young men to eventually live productive and independent lifestyles, emotionally, relationally and spiritually transformed
