This month has felt like a journey of change and grace — from children filling ministry gates with laughter, to Ken's brave leap into college leaving a tender hole at home, to Nicolas walking through loss with strength and healing — each story reminds us that God is writing hope into every chapter.
Path of Hope is nearing full capacity as we welcome many girls, including many pregnant teens. One gave birth to a little girl at our shelter just last week! Each arrival carries a story of deep trauma, and our shelter is a refuge where broken hearts and weary bodies can begin to heal. Among these girls is a very small one who has survived repeated murder attempts on her life after speaking out about the abuse she was suffering — her courage to keep going is nothing short of miraculous. We ask you to join us in prayer — for strength, restoration, and the tender touch of Jesus to bring hope and healing to every girl entrusted to our care. May God's love bring peace and restoration to these precious lives.
The Path of Hope office is currently in what will be the future mama and baby room. Currently with 2 newborns and 3 more babies on the way, we are feeling the urgency rising to get the office built, which is phase two of the building project. If you'd like to help us step toward that goal please visit tanakaglobal.org/donate.
This month has been steady, yet marked by a special opportunity. Our team was invited to travel north to Lira to train a ministry that reaches deep into its community. We love training trainers, because it means the message of God's design for families will spread far beyond what we could reach alone. Each new trainer becomes a multiplier of hope, carrying God's truth into homes and villages we may never see ourselves.
Holiday programs have filled Mukisa Ministries with joy and energy as more than 300 children stream through our gates each day for classes and activities in a safe, Christ-centered environment. This week, 80 teenage boys are gathering for a sports camp and conference — please pray that God will touch their hearts as future leaders. On Saturday, parents will join us for encouragement and teaching from the Reclaiming Hope team, while next week the children will wrap up this school break with the Mukisa Shop… "cashing in" the points they've earned for school supplies. Each moment is a chance to plant seeds of faith and hope in families across our community.
The children are home for the school holidays, filling their communities with energy and joy. Amid the break, we celebrate a remarkable milestone: our very first university student has begun college classes, preparing to become a future high school teacher. From vulnerable beginnings on the street to shaping the next generation, this is a powerful testimony of God's faithfulness. Please keep praying for the children at home during the holiday, and for this young man as he steps into a new season of learning and leadership.
School fees are always our most expensive times of the year and we still have 3 boys needing sponsors. Reach out if you are willing to walk alongside one of them in this way! [email protected]
This month has brought big changes in our family. Ken, my first to "fly the nest," is now at Hillsdale College in Michigan majoring in physics — a true miracle. We thank you so much for your prayers and support from passport, visa, Ebola issues, school supplies, friendship and more! He truly feels loved and supported as he steps into this new chapter and it settles my mama heart knowing the Church as a whole is surrounding him!
Just before my return to Uganda, my oldest son Nicolas called with the sad news of his father's passing. It was so hard to be far away, but it was beautiful to see the clan stepped in with strength and compassion, bringing healing in the midst of loss. Please keep praying for Ken as he begins his studies, for Nicolas as he grieves, and for our family as we walk forward in faith.
We are so very grateful for your love, support and prayers! May God bless you!
With love,
